L’Étape Ireland is an amateur cycling sportive officially associated with the Tour de France.

L’Étape Ireland lets regular cyclists experience something very close to a Tour de France stage, both in terms of challenge and atmosphere. The first L’Étape Ireland was held on 7 September 2024 in Killarney, County Kerry, with two route options: ~98 km and ~135 km. The routes include timed mountain climbs (e.g. Moll’s Gap and Ballaghbeama) for a “King / Queen of the Mountains” competition, plus a sprint segment for a “green jersey”-style challenge. There’s a strong community / festival aspect: there’s an event village with music, food, a pop-up Tour de France museum, and spectator-friendly zones.

The event is organised by Elite Events Management, in partnership with the ASO (Amaury Sport Organisation), which runs the Tour de France.
